$40.00 per family get’s you a pre-fab gingerbread house, a pound of bulk candy, and everything else you need, as well as a facilitator (to help you with those creative questions). Then plan on coming in on December 19th between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to pick out your pound of candy and create your family gingerbread house masterpiece and leave the mess here!

For $30.00 you can walk away with a pre-fab gingerbread house and a pound of bulk candy. The Fishers Arts Council (FAC) is seeking a variety of performers for this year’s Art in the Park on Saturday, September 19th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Local bands, dance troupes and family friendly entertainers are encouraged to apply. More than 7,500 people are expected to attend.

All entries must have the following: group or band name; group or band members names & ages; group or band photo; contact person, address, phone number and email; dance or song list and lyrics; times you are available; how long will it take you to set-up & tear-down; dance or music demo if available.

All interested performers can mail required information to Fishers Arts Council, One Municipal Drive, Fishers, IN 46038. French Cafe and Patisserie Opening Soon

Cathy Egler (formerly of the Zionsville “The Pie Safe” fame) and her daughter Emilie Myers, are combining their talents to open “La Mie Emilie” in the Arts & Design District.

“La Mie Emilie” will offer authentic French cafe experience with delightful treats such as Croque Monsieur sandwiches, salads, quiches, tarts, truffles and Cathy’s signature pies!

The new cafe is located at 15 W. Main Street and will open during the month of August.

Wine tasting and Gallery Walk

Enjoy a summer evening experiencing Indiana vintages al fresco at The Art of Wine, the newest can’t-miss event in the Carmel Arts & Design District.

On Saturday, Aug. 1, nine Indiana wineries will converge in Old Town Carmel in a celebration of Indiana wine and art inspired by the grape.

Guests 21 and over can thrill their palates with unlimited samples of Indiana vintages for only $15. Wines are available for purchase by the glass or the bottle. The first 5,000 wine-tasting participants will also receive a souvenir wine glass. A photo ID is required to participate in the wine tasting.

Guests can also enjoy a free concert by Indiana singer-songwriter Jennie DeVoe. The celebrated local indie performer will take the stage for an outdoor performance at 6 p.m.

Many of the Carmel Arts & Design District boutiques and merchants will host special sales or promotions during the festival, while the diverse collection of galleries will host exhibits that spotlight wine-inspired works created by local, national and international artists.

Parking is available at the Carmel Lions Club parking lot and the Indiana Design Center underground parking garage, as well as on-street parking in the District. Taxi cabs also will be available.
