The Carmel Clay Public Library Foundation has named its Board of Directors and officers for 2009. Joining the board this year are Henry Blackwell II (retired), Mary Ann Burke (retired), Steve A. Cobb, Managing Director of CID Capital, and Dr. John Newton, Assistant Principal of Carmel High School.
Elizabeth G. Russell of Krieg DeVault LLP will serve as president of the board, while Mathew P. Frey, owner of Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream, will continue to serve as vice president. JoDee Curtis, CPA, SPHR, of Katz, Sapper & Miller will take over the treasurer’s position, and David A. Temple of Drewry Simmons Vornehm, LLP will be secretary.

Continuing board members are Mimi Brookie; Karen Glaser, Indiana Youth Institute; James W. Hehner, Attorney; Mark L. Hildebrand, Crowe Chizek & Co, LLC; Dr. Paul K. Ho; Mo Merhoff, president, Carmel Chamber; Heidi Muller, Springmill Communications; Richard F. Taylor III, First Merchants Bank; William Wiebenga, Ph.D; Will Wright, Will Wright Building Corporation; and Ex-Officio members Wendy Phillips, library director and Ruth Nisenshal, Foundation director.
The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that seeks public and private funds to ensure the long-term financial stability of the Carmel Clay Public Library. The purpose of the Foundation is to support and sustain the library financially in the long term. The Foundation was originally chartered in 1989. A full-time director and assistant manage the Foundation, and are advised by the 18-member board.
